Old Crandon Park Zoo
We recently met the family at Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. We though it might be full so we got there a little early and visited the old Crandon Park zoo, located on the south side of the beach parking lot. It’s been around since the 1940′s and used to be quite an attraction from what I heard. It was even one of the top 25 zoo’s in the country at one point. Continue reading…

The Leaf Magazine spring issue is here! This is their second issue, it’s a collaborative between four garden designers/writers and many contributors. Producing a virtual mag full of beautiful outdoor design and just plain ‘eye candy’, perfect for any garden enthusiast. Continue reading…
Pinecrest Botanical Gardens
We visited Pinecrest Gardens this weekend, a beautiful botanical garden in the tiny city of Pinecrest, Fl. It was originally built in the 1930′s to house what would become the world-famous Parrot Jungle attraction. In 2002 Parrot Jungle was moved to Miami Beach and the City of Pinecrest bought the land and made it into what it is today Continue reading…
Small Home Love is finally here
I am extremely happy to announce that I finally launched Small Home Love! It’s been in the works for a while and in mind even longer. I’ve been blogging here for a while now and wished that I could share all the cool interior stuff I found online and the interior diy projects that I had made for my home.

Wearable Garden
I was perusing on Etsy the other day and came across this adorable tiny planter. When I first saw it I thought it was a really cool wall planter. But when I realized it was actually a brooch, it just blew my mind. Continue reading…
Visit to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden
We visited this small but nice botanical garden last year for the first time. It’s a couple of blocks from Lincoln Road, one of the busiest and happening areas in Miami Beach. But since then it has undergone a 1.2 milloin dollar renovation. It just reopened a few weeks ago, so we went this past weekend to check it out.

Cauley Square Historic Railroad Village
Cauley Square is a small historic railroad village consisting of about twenty quaint cootage shops located within a lush 10 acre garden. The cottages were originally built by pioneers of the Flagler Railroad in 1903. You can even see an authentic historic red railroad Train Caboose on-exhibit near the front entry.

Long Weekend Gardening and Outdoor Fun
This Memorial weekend I thought I would take advantage and get some much needed re-potting done. And have a little bike riding adventure. Continue reading…
Earth Day Adventure
My husband (who loves nature as much as I do) and I decided to do something fun and outdoorsy for Earth day. The actual places we intended to visit didn’t quite pan out, but we saw some beautiful scenery along the way. Continue reading…
Fun At The Bromeliad Garden Fest 2011 This Weekend
It was a perfect day to go to an outdoor garden festival, bright and sunny but not too hot. There were plenty of vendors eager to help and talk about their products, crafts, art and plants. I was pleased to see it wasn’t only Bromeliads. There was a good variety of plants; from succulents to bamboo and everything in between. Continue reading…
