We know creating or revising a garden can be a daunting task, but it also can be a very rewarding one. There is a pride you feel when you look at your finished work or when people comment on how lovely your garden is. We want to help you every step of the way with great ideas, examples and tips, so you can create the small garden of your dreams. This is an eco-friendly resource. We only recommend or talk about eco-friendly products, methods and materials. In order to help you better we will provide you with tips that will save you time, money and help the environment.
Gardening isn’t just fun It’s good for you too. Working in the garden first of all provides exercise, which doesn’t feel like exercise. It relaxes you there is a Zen like quality in losing yourself when gardening. You forget about everything around you and just focus on the task at hand. It also offers tranquility when you come home from a stressful day and you can just sit outside and take in all the beauty around you. It can also be good for the environment and your pocket-book. Growing a few fruits and vegetables or even just a few herbs organically/naturally will save you money at the supermarket and keep pesticides out of the soil.
Why small garden Love?
What can I say, there’s just special about small gardens. Not only are they cozy and inviting but they force you to use your imagination. Sure with a larger garden you can fill it with everything you want and need. But in a small garden every inch counts, you have to great creative if you want your garden to be everything it can be. This is where the importance of planning comes in. You have to know exactly what you want from your garden and how to achieve it. This is where we come in, we want to help you get creative and create your beautiful garden.
Who’s behind Small garden Love?
I’m Jacky. I’ve had a love of gardening since I can remember and have always had small gardens. I’m an ex-architect (with a minor in landscape architecture) turned nurse.
I just married my best friend last year. I went DIY crazy for my wedding and didn’t realize why until after that I had been suppressing my creativity (nursing doesn’t involve any creativity at all).
So, I started this blog in order to set my creative side free and have loved every minute of it.
In our spare time, my husband and I love to be outdoors; gardening, hiking, visiting parks, botanical gardens and anything that involves nature. Taking pictures of everything in between.
I am the mother of two spoiled feline babies. I love all creatures big and small (except spiders) and they are welcome to our small garden any time.
